reserve firefightersReserve Firefighters:Since its inception in 1888, Berthoud Fire has benefitted greatly from the dedication of volunteer firefighters. Today, a dozen committed members volunteer their time and energy to help BFPD answer the call. Our reserves meet some of the same stringent requirements of career staff with state and national certifications and training that never ends. BFPD’s longest serving active volunteer, Travis Bailey, has been with Berthoud for 14 years!

Each reserve meets a minimum number of work hours each month, is assigned a mentor to assist in their skill development, and can receive a stipend once they meet all the certification requirements of the position.
