Mike Cook

As a 3rd generation Colorado native, Mike has called Berthoud home since 1988.   As a Colorado School of Mines graduate and registered Professional Engineer, he spent 26 years at Little Thompson Water District (LTWD), first as District Engineer and then as District Manager, retiring in 2019.

Mike has dedicated to serving the Berthoud community as:

  • A past member of the Berthoud Community Fund Committee, Community Foundation of Northern Colorado
  • A 20 plus year 4-H organizational leader, project leader, County fair superintendent.
  • A past member of the Colorado State 4-H Foundation.
  • An 18-year Board member and volunteer construction superintendent with Berthoud Habitat for Humanity.
  • A Berthoud Elementary PTO member, championed and physically built the soccer field and baseball diamond at Berthoud Elementary

Mike believes that Berthoud Fire Protection District has done an incredible job of providing the best service to its community as is possible and is proud of the District's ISO rating, a testament to decades of hard work and planning.

As a Board member, Mike's priority is to maintain the highest level of service possible, prioritizing both the  community's safety, and the well-being of the District's dedicated employees.
